At its most basic, a <diff/>tag is a drawing created using the drawing tools on difftag.com. There are many other types of <diff/>tags you can create, however, and they are all created in the same way. Here are some of the types of <diff/>tags you can create:

Just hold down your left mouse button on the following link (<diff/>tag It!) below, and drag it up to your browser's toolbar. If that doesn't work, right-click on the link, choose "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark this link," then select your Links or Toolbar folder to create it in:

Whenever you come upon a page you would like to tag up, just click on your new toolbar button. You will be able to create drawings, and add other tools as an overlay on top of the page (just as you can on the pages of this site). Whenever you go back to that same page, the last <diff/>tag you worked on for that web page will come up, or you can save a default that will always come up as your starting <diff/>tag.
